I've gotten recommendations for this movie for over a year now and I just got around to watching it. I think this movie is super hilarious and definitely deserves the title of a good ol classic movie.
There are so many hilarious parts in this movie and I'm going to name my top 3. Taking 3rd place is going to be when Ferris dressed up as Sloane's dad and picked her up from school with the principal confidently knowing Ferris was up to something. For the second place spot I'm gonna have to say the scene where the principal tried to go to Ferris's house and got absolutely destroyed. I busted out laughing with cold water from the hose started spraying him. And finally, my favorite part in the movie is when Ferris and Cameron are reversing the miles on Cam's dad's car and they accidentally run the whole car out of the window into the forest. It's just funny to imagine how pissed my dad would be if I did that to his prized possession. Also, an honorable mention goes to the start of the movie when Ferris is pretending to be sick and he starts playing on a keyboard to sell the fact that he is sick. It gives me some ideas 😜. Nah I'm just kidding. Anyway, I thought this movie was actually really good. It would have been awesome if they put out and Ferris Bueller's Day Off two but oh well, we're never gonna get that. If your someone who has never watched this, I recommend you give this movie a watch because it great. 8/10.

I wanna start off by saying that this movie definitely isn't anywhere close to being a top movie but I think you could throw it closer to the top on a comedic chart. The whole premise of this movie is based off of how Blart deals with bad guys even though he's a measly security guard and fat. The movie makes fun of how he is fat and has diabetes. It's just so funny to watch because in no world should he still be alive but he is.
One of my favorite parts of this movie is when he is talking to his daughter's kidnapper over the phone and he passes out because he has low blood sugar. He then scoots himself over to a child eating ice cream and licks the drips of the ice cream off the kids hand. Disgusting but very funny. Another reason why this movie is funny is because he is just an idiot. While he is trying to escape a bad guy he runs onto a show that's going on and starts dancing in with everyone, messing everything up. It's also not just him that's an idiot. His friends are dummies too. In the hallway fight scene, one trips on a haircut coat type thing, another uses a lamp as a weapon, I mean, just the idiocy in this movie is hilarious. What I learned my this movie is to not take life too seriously. Blart dug a huge hole for himself in terms of his weight but he doesn't let that stop him from doing what he has a calling towards. If you find yourself bored one night, I recon you give this movie a try. 7/10. WOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOO. This weekend I had the whole crib to myself so I decided to watch a true American classic according to ChatGPT.
This movie is honestly deserving of the title "classic" because in my opinion the plot is expertly made. From the countless days of Andy digging not knowing if he's going to get caught to the end revealing that the leader of the jail was actually doing something very illegal and how he ended up killing himself because of it. Also, there was a part where the movie was actually narrated and it said that the pipe Andy crawled through was the length of like 3 football fields or something crazy like that. I know it's not true, but it's kinda just crazy to think about doing that. It just made me cringe when I thought about how disgusting and claustrophobic it probably was. Also, the very end of the movie was nice because it had sort of a deeper meaning behind everything that happened in the movie. A good directing choice in my opinion. To me it was interesting to see the different things that Andy did throughout the years to escape and then the best part is the look on the head jailers face as pictured above. Like look at bro, he is lost and flabbergasted. Anyway, I thought this movie was awesome and I recommend it to anyone who wants something that is incredibly interesting. 8/10. Before I get into this blog I just want to say that this movie has completely changed how I look at McDonald's and honestly big corporations all around the globe. I also recommend that everyone should watch this movie or something like it within their lifetime as it shows everything that's behind big corporations.
The Founder is an excellent movie about the start of McDonald's and how it was vastly changed through corruption. If you didn't know, McDonalds was started by two brothers who revolutionized the fast food industry by creating a fast system to get food to people in seconds. Just by chance they encountered a milkshake maker salesman who decided to start helping the McDonald's business. Little did the brothers know, they had just make the worst decision of their lives. Slowly but surely, Kroc started to deceive the brothers and pressured them into expanding which the brothers never really wanted to do. Long story short, Kroc eventually owned so much of the business that he actually essentially kicked the creators of McDonald's out of their business. This movie has truly changed how I think of any corporation around the globe. It always make me think, "Is this the truth or is there something that the company is hiding?" I actually looked it up and it said that the creator of McDonald's was Ray Kroc which just shows that everything that the McDonald's brothers built up and the purpose behind it, was torn down by one man with horrible intentions. While, the McDonald's brothers did make some mistakes with Kroc, it is still sad to see both the brothers being removed from their own business. This movie was magnificent and because of that I am going to give it an almost perfect score of 9.99 repeating out of 10. All I can say about this movie is 🤮. Before January 26th I have never really watched a movie like this. There were a multitude of bad things with this movie with the occasional good. In this blog I am going to write a review with me starting with all of the bad things and critiques that I have in the first part of the essay and the I will move to the few things that I thought were good later in the blog. Enjoy.
First and most importantly, this movie made absolutely no sense. When the movie first started I thought "ok the mom died and he has a stepmom now, let's see what he does with his life." The movie had parts like this for maybe 20 minutes of the movie and then the boy goes into another demention? Like, that's the thing, where did he go? Is it another world or the after life? I honestly could not tell you. Then throughout the movie weird things came up in the movie like the white blobs. What were those? It seems as if they had nothing to do with the ending of the movie. Also, another part that didn't make sense was when the boy went through what looked like the golden gates of heaven . He entered through them and then got yelled at and didn't return to them. Unless the final scene was his return to them. But like I said I don't know because everything about this movie was so veig. Another example of parts being confusing is the area of a bunch of columns where they walked across multiple times. Is that a portal or something else. Also, the characters in this movie were so confusing. I found myself several times leaning over to Noah and asking questions about who is who. For example, I didn't know which women was his step mom and which one was his real mom. Also, I don't understand why the real mom didn't just go with them through the door. I believe she said something about how it's not her time but it's like. What do you mean it's not your time? You're right there ready to leave. What is the world is the deal with the blocks. You have to stack them to hold the world together or something? It's stuff like this that make the movie seem as the whole thing was just rushed. It's almost like they just threw things in the story to make in longer. Anyway, that is my rant on my first few problems with this movie. Another problem that I had with this movie was the screenplay. Everything looked glitchy. Now I'm not sure if it was the move theatre or the film but it was one of the two. The point is, at some point (mostly when it was panning down) it seemed as if the screen was running on 10 fps. The screen over here looking like a PS3 with no wifi. I understand that the artists have to draw each individual frame but if your going to put a movie on a world stage for everyone to see I feel like it would be essential to put in that extra bit of work that is required to make the frames flow smoothy. This movie is called The Boy and the Heron but in my opinion the Heron really didn't have much to do with the story. I mean yeah he went from what looked like an evil character to a nice guy that helped him find his moms but I feel like this story was more related the boy and the mom. Right now I am starting a petition for a new title: The Boy and His Search for His Moms. Ah there we go much better. Also, with the Heron. I didn't understand how the bird could swallow his own face and then regurgitate it. Also, how does a hole in the beak disable all the powers of the heron. This whole movie was just filled with wild stuff man. Alrighty, we are to the part that all of you are looking forward to. The good parts! I want to start off by saying that the animation is absolutely beautiful. The fact that people actually drew every single scene is crazy. I looked this movie up on google and it said that this movie took anywhere from 7-10 years to make. This just shows the level of dedication that it took to make this movie. Personally, I wouldn't have spent 7-10 years of my life to make a garbage movie but that's just me. I do respect the dedication though. Also, one part that was satisfying to watch it the blood come out from the boys head and the guts come out of the fish. Beautiful animation. The only part where I will give the creators of this movie credit is there writing of the story between the boy and the heron. It was interesting to see the boy at first hate the bird and see him as an evil character to then seeing him as a bird that was there to help him with his journey. That and what I mentioned in the first few sentences of the fond paragraph are the only parts that made sense. Everything else needs to be clarified. Anyway, that's my review on The Boy and the Heron. As you can see it is definitely not a good movie in my eyes but hey! You never know what your like until you see if for yourself. I encourage you to go out and watch it and write your own blog about it. I would love to see what other people think about this movie. 2/10. I usually watch movies with my dad but this week I changed it up and had a mommy and son movie night. I thought Me Before You was brilliantly developed. It was an amazing production choice to slowly have William become nicer and nicer to Louisa. Also in this movie there is a passing of time overlayed by music and I am a sucker for music scenes. This obviously resonated with me the most. I also like how the producer didn't just show the successes of Louisa, instead he shows her mistakes and how she dealt with them.
It was nice to see William give the very rare occasional laugh and smile seeing as it was evidence of progress with their relationship. However, it was sad to see the movie end on a sad note with the death of William. I know he was in a lot of pain but it almost seemed like the wrong time to kill the relationship between the two of them because it was thriving. Overall I thought this movie was pretty good 8/10. This weekend I realised that I forgot to write about Hacksaw Ridge which was my favorite movie out of the midterm movies that I watched. This movie was honestly amazing. Everything was done to perfection and the amount of sacrifice that Desmond had was unmatched. It is truly an inspiring movie because of the fact that it is a true story. It gives me a sense of what the people that fight for our lives actually go through.
Just recently I saw a quote from a book that said, a non-fiction book shows everything exactly how it was during the time. Leaving nothing out and not adding anything in. Now, I know this wasn't a book but I believe the same concept is applied to movies. Mel Gibson includes gore (and a lot of it) not only to show what it was like back then but also to not leave anything out from the story line. Over all, this movie is an amazing movie that is the embodiment of courage and what the soldiers that fight for our country go through. I know I know, "Challenge yourself with the movies you watch" I'm very sorry but this weekend I was very busy and I had plans to watch the movie Resistance after I watched Big Hero 6 but I just couldn't find time to do it. Anyway, I thought this movie was pretty good. It was a little annoying how they started the movie on a sad note with the death of Tadashi. However, i really liked the plot of the movie. It was fun to see Hiro gather his group of friends to fight against his own creation.
Another part of the movie that I really liked were the gadgets that each person in the resistance force had. It was pretty satisfying watching each of then use their gadgets especially in the final battle. Also, much like the start of the movie, they ended the movie on a sad note with the death of Baymax. Because of the start and the end I am going to have to give this movie a 7/10 because I'm not a huge fan of sad movies. However, if you are fine with sad movies I recommend this movie. I re-watched the first Die Hard before Christmas and after Christmas I was bored and I wanted to watch a movie with my dad. He asked if I wanted to watch the die hard series and that we did. I only got to the 4th one but I have to say that my favorite is Die Hard With a Vengeance. While seeing this movie, I thought it was so fun to watch the villain's evil plan go down to get all the gold in the building. I thought it was a great producing choice have the viewers know exactly what is happening while the good guys don't. It is fun to see the good guys figure everything out.
One part that in my opinion stands out is the riddle that the bad guy sets up for the good guys. If you have a 3 gallon jug and a 5 gallon jug, how do you put exactly 4 gallons in the 5 gallon. While watching this I actually paused the movie and tried to figure it out myself. Regardless, the movie is filled with stuff like this and should be watched by any action/thriller junkie. Upon learning about my new director, Mel Gibson, my dad suggested that I watch Braveheart, saying that it is a really good movie. After watching it I can say I only really half agree with him. The movie was ok. Personally, the back in the day movies aren't my absolute favorite but I did like the story line of the movie. I enjoyed all of the battles in the movie. It is crazy how people fought back then. If you were going into fight you were most likely destine to die. I think it's also amazing that the director himself was the main character in this movie. It shows Mel Gibson's dedication to his craft. However, a part that I hate about all directors that put this in movies is sex scenes. Like c'mon! When you're watching it with your parents it makes things super awkward and there is no valid reason why any sex scene should be in a movie. Finally, I thought the ending was sad but it was awesome to see the Scottish finally get their freedom.
