This week I went away from my midterm movies and decided to write about this movie because it is just way too good. Sound of Freedom is a true story about the rescuing of children from abusive and honesty disgusting people (Traffickers). This movie has truly showed me what really goes on in the world outside of our little bubble in the U.S. It makes me a little mad that there isn't more done by the U.S. and stronger countries to help prevent children from being ruined for the rest of their life. You could see in the movie how while these kids may be saved physically, they will still be ruined mentally for the rest of their lives which is just heartbreaking.
I think that these details of the movie show how good the directing was and an idea of how much money was put into the movie. The actors portrayed the characters beautifully and it really made me feel as I was right there with them in the movie. I always found myself tensing up in a scary situation. This movie is super super good and I would definitely give it a watch if you have the time.

After looking at all of Tom McGrath's movies, I have realized that all of his movies bring back childhood memories. So, with that being said I decided to watch one of my favorites from way back when I was little. This movie is just so good, if you don't know, there is a huge plot twist when Megamind, who was the bad guy of the city, actually becomes the good guy and helps fight off his own creation that he made. He struggles to do it but eventually wins and is honestly a relief for anyone witching the movie. There are also a lot of fight scenes and just scenes in general with popular music that just gives the movie the "kick" it needs. Another, good part about this movie is the incorporation of Minion. He is Megamind's own little helper and reminds me of Jarvis from the movie Iron Man. That obviously means that this movie is top teir right? Kidding. But in all seriousness, this movie is very good, well produced, and well directed. I would give this movie a solid 6.8/10.
I've seen almost all of Tom McGrath's movies and I decided to watch this one first because it's my personal favorite of the ones I've watched. let me tell you, even after the 3rd or 4th time it does not disappoint. We just finished watching multiple suspenseful movies and honestly this movie has a lot of it. Captain DuBois is always right on the animals tails and always has me cringing (I guess I could say) even though I know exactly what's going to happen. DuBois' lines and honestly how she looks is actually really scary.
Also, the movie ends it the most perfect way with DuBois along with her partners being shipped to Madagascar in crates much like how the animals came in in the first Madagascar movie. This movie is expertly made. Definitely isn't on my top ten movies but it's still a solid movie that is worth giving an 8/10. My dad convinced me to watch this movie saying it's his favorite comedy movie and after watching it I have to agree with him. Tommy is so stupid that every time he does something mildly dumb I bust out laughing. After Tommy's dad dies, he is given the task of continuing the family with his friend Richard who by the way, is also a funny character because he makes fun of Tommy's stupidness. The two of them go out and try to get buyers for their break pads however they are unsuccessful. Tommy and Richard eventually become successful and save the company. Tommy embraces how fat he is and it makes the movie so much funnier. Look up "fat guy in a little coat scene" on Youtube. You'll see what I'm talking about.
There are some very interesting choices by the producers in this movie like the death of the father. When that happened, it had me fooled. Also, at the end of the movie Tommy was named the CEO of the company which surprised me because like I've said Tommy is stupid. Not really related to the movie but what saddened me is when I realized that the actor for Tommy died from an overdose on drugs. This is just so disappointing because he had so much potential with his acting abilities. Overall I'll give this movie a solid 8/10. Very funny and I recommend it to anybody. |
